I'm contradictory by nature. I love potatoes and will eat anything made out of them, except for tator tots (I don't even know how to spell that), because for some reason I feel sick when I eat them. The same applies to hashbrowns, but not to that much of an extent. On the other hand, I absolutely hate tomatoes. I have a gag reflex when it comes to eating them, but I can't live without pizza and spaghetti and ketchup for fries.

Now that you have a basic idea of what I'm like, let's move on to the basics not mentioned above. I'm Asian; both of my parents came from Taiwan. I live in California, U.S.A., which can definitely not be sunny. I like most kinds of music, with the exceptions of heavy metal, screamo, and rap. I'm more inclined toward alternative, although I do like pop and rock, especially if it's not in English. About a quarter of the songs on my iPod are in English, with the rest being a mix of a few Italian songs, lots of Japanese and Chinese songs, and one Korean song. What can I say? I like my Asian roots.

I can play the piano and the oboe fairly well. I could maybe sing without shattering windows if my life depended on it. English is my first language, although I can understand Chinese almost perfectly and speak coherently in it. I can understand most Taiwanese, but can't speak it at all, and I've been taking Japanese for the past few years in school. (I know how to ask where the bathroom is! Really, isn't that all that matters?) I get decent grades in school, but I'm not up to my parent's standards (they seriously contemplate sending me to tutoring when I get a B+ on a quiz). I live in an extremely academic-centric community where almost everyone is Asian and stress over grades is a daily part of students' lives. And yet everyone excels at procrastinating, myself included.

In my spare time (*cough* when I'm procrastinating *cough*) I enjoy reading, drawing, and messing around in Photoshop. I like reading fanfiction as well, and browsing through Xanga- and graphic-related forums. I'm known as dreamstar7 in most forums, always with Zephyr as my alias. I have an obsession with blue, dreams, and wind, which explains the "dream" part of my username and my alias.
